Magda Labonté-Blaise (she/her) is honored to be making her EastLine Theatre debut as Mayme among an extraordinary cast and crew. She is humbled that the directors have trusted her to play this wonderfully complicated, yet delicate role. Another notable credit includes Cynthia in Sweat, also by Lynn Nottage. Prior to that production, Magda had not been on stage for almost two decades! In that time, she started a career as an attorney for children with special needs and raised an incredible and supportive family. She is brimming with excitement to be on stage again. Magda expresses sincere gratitude for the opportunities she has been given. Thank you, EastLine Theatre!
Lee Kurfist (he/him) is so happy to be back on stage and to be part of this wonderful ensemble of very talented players for his first EastLine Theatre production! Lynn Nottage is brilliant and her plays are a force to behold. Intimate Apparel is a poignant and beautifully written snapshot that speaks from the past but foretells the future. It is a privilege and a pleasure to bring Mr Marks to life. Thanks to Matt and Sheilah for entrusting him to me. Favorite recent roles include One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Cheswick) and The Seafarer (Richard Harkin); both at BACCA, 12 Angry Jurors (Juror 11) for The Minstrel Players, and The Caine Mutiny Court Martial (Judge) at Studio Theater.
Michelle Nielsen (she/her) is thrilled to be part of this amazing production! After years of not performing, she is grateful to have this be the show that gets her back on stage. A BFA graduate of FTC, over the years she has been seen in productions like The Odd Couple (Female Version), Company, What I Did Last Summer, and Smokey Joe’s Cafe. Michelle thanks Matt and Sheilah for this awesome opportunity! Special thanks to Chatch for being her “At Home Esther”.
Brandon Robinson (he/him) is proud to be making his EastLine Theatre debut portraying George Armstrong. This will be his second theater project after he played Jackie Robinson for Broadhollow Theatre. He is extremely humbled to be casted alongside some of the most phenomenal actors on Long Island. Brandon would like to thank his family, friends, and acting coach for their support, trust, and inspiration.
Reggie Street (she/her) is very excited to be a part of Intimate Apparel at EastLine Theatre. She has studied her craft at Larry Singer Studios in New York and The Bristol Old Vic in the UK. Her credits include TV, film and theater. In her spare time, Reggie enjoys writing, biking and flea market hopping. She wants to thank EastLine for an amazing opportunity. www.reggiestreet.com
Elizabeth Tobio (she/her) is thrilled to be making her stage debut as Mrs. Dickson in EastLine’s production of Intimate Apparel. She is grateful to her family and friends for their support, and is especially grateful to her nephew Matthew for his inspiration and to Greg Cioffi for being an outstanding teacher and mentor.
Coming in March to Westbury Arts. Free tickets are available now.
Sheilah Barksdale (she/her) is excited to be making her directorial debut here at BACCA. She is grateful to and awe-struck by the extraordinary talent and trust of our cast; the wisdom of our very experienced production team; and the patience and support of my co-director, Matthew. A special thank you to Danny Higgins for giving me this opportunity and for always recognizing things in me that I have never believe I had in me to be or do.
Lynn Ciorciari (she/her) being a fashion-plate punk rocker in the early 80s was only possible on a teenager’s budget by learning how to sew. Thus began a lifelong passion for all things fabric, thread, needles and pins. Costuming actors from NYC to Idaho to Atlanta and now, at EastLine, is a privilege. Big thanks to an ultra-creative mom who handed over the keys to her trusty Singer way back when.
Danny Higgins (he/they) is a NYSCA sponsored artist that has been with EastLine Theatre since 2011, having seen it from its conception to its transition to nonprofit. Select EastLine credits include: Indecent, Amadeus, Romeo & Juliet, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, Buried Child, The Importance of Being Earnest, Incident at Vichy, Equus, Antigone, and Richard III. As a writer, he is the co-creator of Prospero (Live), a new musical retelling of The Tempest. Thank you Bryan, for your patience.
Matt Rosenberg (he/him) is extremely honored to return to the director’s chair with this incredibly powerful piece. Matt has been with EastLine since 2015, where he has served as stage manager, director, and actor. Previous directing credits include On Golden Pond, Barefoot in the Park, The Best Man, and Deathtrap. Matt wants to thank his incredibly talented cast for all their hard work. And to Sheilah, this has been a wonderful experience and it has been a great pleasure to sit alongside you during this process!
Michelle Savin (she/her) is a Long Island-based visual artist. Previous scenic painting and prop design credits at EastLine include Our Leading Lady, Amadeus, and Indecent. Other previous production credits include Into the Woods, Thoroughly Modern Millie, I Remember Mama, and Noises Off. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Michelle is a handler with Pet Partners Therapy Animal Program, where she is teamed with her loyal pup, Sadie. With gratitude to Caitlin, for everything.
Remi Watts (she/they) is EastLine’s Technical Director. She is excited to be working on Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel. Remi strives to create new and unique worlds through lights and sound. Some of their favorite credits include Peter and the Starcatcher, Treasure Island, and Amadeus. She is very grateful for her family at EastLine.
